The Career Discovery Internship Program (CDIP), established in 1978, is an alumni-sponsored program that offers Bates undergraduates the opportunity to spend time with an alum in his/her place of employment (during spring break). The purpose of the program is to provide an opportunity for students to learn more about a particular job or career field in order to help them with their career decision-making process. The OCS matches students with sponsors and sponsors are expected to design a visit that provides a broad overview of their career field. Students are responsible for their own transportation and room and board (unless the alum wishes to underwrite this cost or invite the student to stay in their home). CDIP is a wonderful way for alumni to make a significant contribution to the life of a Bates undergraduate by sharing one’s career. Please contact the OCS at (207)786-6232 for more information about sponsorship. |
