In order to interview with the committee and receive a composite committee evaluation, students must follow these guidelines:

1. Registration Forms - There is one registration form for the Office of Career Services and one registration form for the Medical Studies committee. Both must be completed by early December.
2. Personal Statement - Please refer to the handout entitled "The Personal Assessment Essay for your Pre-Health Professional File." This essay typically requires a few drafts. If you would like feedback, please feel free to schedule an appointment with Sarah Jones at the OCS. The final version must be in your medical studies file at the OCS by early.
3. Unofficial Transcript - From the Registrar's Office. Must be in by early February.
4. Waiver Statement - For your Medical Studies Committee evaluation letter. Must be in your file by early February.
5. References - You should have at least three references. Having at least one from a science faculty member is very important. Science may be defined as Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics. Your references should be in your file by Mid-February. References take time to be completed so ask early and provide writers with the information they need to write you a substantive letter. 6. Mock Interview - All students must have a mock interview by early March. Prior to your mock interview, please review the Most Frequently Asked Interview Questions page. To schedule a mock interview, contact Sue Cook at the OCS at x6233. After completing your mock interview, you are eligible to sign up for your Medical Studies Committee interview providing your file is complete.
7. Medical Studies Committee Interview - A series of dates will be set up in the early spring based on committee members' availability. Interviews will be conducted in March and April. As of Mid-February, the OCS will have a list of what interview dates are available and which interviewers will be present on that particular date. You will then have the opportunity to choose an interview slot as long as your file is complete. Contact Sue Cook at x6233 to schedule your committee interview.
