Minority Medical Education Program (MMEP) has helped committed minority students prepare for medical school for over a decade. MMEP is a free, six-week summer program, offering eligible undergraduate students intensive and personalized medical school preparation. MMEP aims to recruit students primarily from groups that continue to be under-represented in American medicine, notably Blacks, Hispanics, and Native Americans (American Indians, Alaskan Natives, Native Hawaiians).

The key components of the program include exposure to aspects of clinical practices and academic medicine is a structured environment with an M.D. or Ph.D. mentor; academic enrichment in biological sciences, mathematics and problem-solving skills; preparation for MCAT; counseling on selection of medical schools; and exposure to problem-based learning curriculum.

Programs are offered at various sites across the country, some of which include:
University of Alabama, Baylor College of Medicine, University of Arizona, University of Washington, Columbia University, Duke University School of Medicine, UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, etc.
