Wagner, Radis earn Division III women's lacrosse honors

LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates junior midfielder Molly Wagner won her second All-America honors this season while first-year midfielder Molly Radis made the All-Rookie team as womenslacrosse.com handed out its 2007 postseason awards on Thursday.

Wagner (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow) was named to the website's Division III All-America Third Team, after receiving identical honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association last week. Wagner is the Bobcats' 13th All-American in women's lacrosse, and the first since Molly McMahon '99 in 1998.

Wagner has earned All-NESCAC honors in all three of her seasons at Bates, including First Team honors this year. She was also a First Team All-NESCAC selection in women's soccer in 2005.

A team co-captain, Wagner led the Bobcats (8-7) in goals (39), points (49), ground balls (37), draw controls (35) and caused turnovers (30). She ranked third in the NESCAC in goals per game (2.60), and 50th in Division III in caused turnovers per game (2.00). Among her better games this season were a five-goal performance against Trinity on April 1, a four-goal game in a win over Connecticut College, and a four-goal, five-ground ball game at Bowdoin on April 24. Wagner scored her 100th career goal against Amherst on March 24, and now has 124.

Radis (Portland, Maine/Portland) was named to the website's Division III All-Rookie team. Radis quickly proved herself to be one of the Bobcats' most dangerous scoring threats as well perhaps the fastest player on the team. She scored 20 goals, third on the team, to go with six assists, ranking fourth in overall points (26). Among her best games were a three-goal, two-assist performance in a 10-8 win over Gordon on March 28, and another hat trick in a 12-11 win over Tufts on April 21.
