Lincoln Benedict ’09 hunched below a granite outcrop to photograph Kurt Schuler ’10 hurtling down Tuckerman Ravine on May 5. A Tux trip is a spring rite for many Bates friends, and longtime Bates Outing Club adviser Judy Marden ’66 recalls a 1965 BOC trip. “We filled two Greyhound buses,” she recalls. “A group of Florida Memorial College students visiting Bates on an exchange program came along. They’d never seen snow, so we stopped on the way and had a snowball fight.”
