Pelz an NSCAA All-New England selection in men's soccer

LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates junior Duane Pelz has been named Fourth Team All-New England Region in Division III by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
This is the second postseason honor for Pelz (Boulder, Colo.), who directed the Bates attack from the center midfield position, scoring three goals to go with a team-high six assists.
Pelz tied for third in the NESCAC in assists. His two game-winning goals tied for eighth in the NESCAC, and he tied for 14th in the conference in points (12). Two of his goals came at crucial times: one helped Bates tie Wesleyan 3-3 during the regular season, and another was the lone goal in a 1-0 win at Middlebury.
Bates finished the season with an 8-6-2 record.
Pelz was also named NESCAC All-Academic for the fall season.
