Coffin (Westford, Mass.) was a Second Team NSCAA All-America last season. Also on Thursday, Coffin was named First Team All-New England by the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association, while senior teammate Kim Alexander (Cumberland, Maine) was named to the Third Team. Both were named NEWISA All-New England players last season as well, Coffin to the First Team and Alexander to the Second Team. Coffin again anchored Bates' defense with a rare combination of strength, skill and athleticism. Coffin also notched one goal and one assist, and finishes her soccer career with 14 goals and five assists, all scored as a defender.
Alexander was again among the scoring leaders in the New England Small College Athletic Conference, with nine goals and two assists, and was named All-NESCAC First Team for the third straight season. She tied for fourth in the NESCAC in goals, ranked second in game-winning goals (four) and was seventh in points per game (1.33). Alexander finishes her career with 38 goals and 16 assists. Bates finished the season with a 10-5 record and reached the NESCAC semifinals for the third time in four years. |
