ILS currently supports the use of Internet Explorer 6, which is needed for certain web based applications used on campus to function properly (for ex. iCMS for web authoring). If your windows computer has been updated recently to Internet Explorer 7, we recommend removing it by the following set of directions.

Restart the computer

If these steps do not result in the return of IE 6, or you have any questions or concerns about this process, please contact Help Desk Services, (207)-786-8222.
From the Start button:- Open Control Panel
- Double click on Add/Remove Programs
- Locate the Windows Internet Explorer 7 entry
- Click Remove
- An uninstall wizard appears
- Follow the prompts in the wizard Next, then Finish

Restart the computer
Open Internet Explorer and Help verify under About, that the version currently running is v.6
If desktop icons from the IE7 install remain blue
with yellow, instead of IE6 solid blue
, they may be dragged to the Recycle bin.
