The Bates College Chaplain organizes many opportunities for those interested in service and justice. Some of these include:

  • Hunger and Homelessness Awareness and Action Month in November
  • Service at the Good Shepherd Food Bank of Maine
  • Occasional collaboration with the Service-Learning Program, the Volunteer Program, and campus service organizations
  • Special service projects sponsored independently by campus religious organizations and Wellroot
  • Annual William Stringfellow Award for Justice and Peace. More information.
Please note: Participants undertake volunteer service in any of the opportunities coordinated by the Chaplain's office at their own risk and liability.
