Seeing the Seasons
A postcard from Bates

With August’s opening of the College’s new student housing at the foot of Mount David and the near-completion of Alumni Walk in front of Pettigrew, Lane, and Pettengill halls, campus attention is now on the new dining Commons. Scheduled for completion in January and located smack dab between Alumni Gym and Garcelon Field, the new dining hall will serve up more than great food. Thanks to lots and lots of glass, diners will enjoy spectacular views — north, south, and west — of familiar campus spaces. This tree-dominated southerly view shows the green space just outside Alumni Gym. Online updates of campus improvements are available here. Photograph by Phyllis Graber Jensen.
