Prepare the HTML page by writing raw code, or with an HTML editor such as Dreamweaver. If you don't know HTML, there are a number of places you can learn including webmonkey and HTML school. Create public_html directory on abacus. You may do this directly in the Windows Explorer or Macintosh Finder in your Paris directory, or you may use SFTP. Read more about creating a public_html directory. Set permissions on your public_html page. At the abacus prompt, type chmod 755 public_html. Or set permissions using Fugu or Core Lite. Dreamweaver will not allow you to set permissions. Upload the page via a secure SFTP program . Link the Page. Send email to Rob Spellman (rspell) in Information Services asking him to add your personal home page to the home page list. Remove your Web site by deleting all your Web files (after backing them up), using any SFTP program. |
