In order to access folders and files stored on Paris network server from off-campus, ILS recommends the following secure SFTP programs (which can be downloaded and installed from Software on Denmark on campus, and free from the internet from off-campus):
Core SFTP Lite http://www.bates.edu/core-install.xml for Windows*
Fetch SFTP http://www.bates.edu/fetch-install.xml for Macintosh
* Some windows users have found that Core Lite has not done successful transfers, where WinSCP (and some other open source SFTP programs) have worked to move or transfer the file(s). To download, double click on the winscp405setup.exe file, and choose the typical defaults. The configuration should be the same as for Core for host, etc with the exception that instead of clicking on arrows to move files, highlight the file(s) to be moved and click F6 move button at bottom of screen.
