CHICAGO
LINCOLN PARK ZOO:

SOUTH POND CLEAN UP DAY

TIME:  9:30 a.m. - Noon

Orientation at 9:30 a.m.  Clean Up begins at 10:00 a.m.

Join Lincoln Park Zoo for a little spring cleaning at the South Pond. Volunteers will collect trash and debris around the park and pond in celebration of Earth Day and the arrival of the spring bird migration. You will also collect valuable data on the items collected so that we can measure our environmental impact.

GENERAL LOCATION:  The zoo is located at Fullerton Parkway and Cannon Drive, just West of Lake Shore Drive. The South Pond is located on the South end of the zoo, near Café Brauer and the Farm-in-the-Zoo.  For detailed maps and directions, visit www.lpzoo.org/VisitorsGuide.pdf

CHECK-IN LOCATION:  Check-in will take place on the South Pond Bridge, located just South of Café Brauer and North of the Farm-in-the-Zoo. The nearest street coordinates are Stockton Drive at Armitage. (Approximate address: 2000 N. Stockton Drive, Chicago, IL 60614).

PARKING:  Complimentary parking will be provided, but space is limited so it is recommended that you take public transportation or carpool to the zoo if possible.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:  The 151 bus stops on Stockton Drive at Armitage very near to the check-in location on the South Pond bridge. The 22, 36, and 73 buses stop at Clark and Armitage, just a few blocks West of the check-in location. For information on taking public transportation to the zoo, visit www.yourcta.com. (312-836-7000)

DRESS:  Please dress casually in weather appropriate clothes and wear comfortable shoes. Gloves will be provided.

WAIVER FOR MINORS:  If you are under 18 years old, you must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver form allowing you to participate as a volunteer. To request a form, e-mail volunteer@lpzoo.org or call 312-742-2124. All other volunteers will receive a standard waiver form at check-in.
