High Point Neighborhood in West Seattle
The Seattle Housing Authority has made 2 blocks of land available to Habitat. One is planned to have two duplexes and the other will have three duplexes and two single family units. It is suggested to bring your own gloves for comfort. Gloves and tools will be provided. Please bring your own lunch to project site.
Children under the age of 15 are NOT allowed on the job site.
Construction Schedule
- 8:45 a.m. to 9 a.m. Sign in, safety orientation, and assignment building tasks.
- 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Work under the instruction of Habitat site staff.
- 10:30 a.m. Coffee and snack break!
- 10:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Work under the instruction of Habitat site staff.
- 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Lunch! Please bring a lunch for the day.
- 12:45 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Work under the instruction of Habitat site staff.
- 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. Clean-up and sign out.
We have hardhats, ear protection and safety glasses available onsite, but you may be more comfortable bringing your own.
What to Wear
- Sturdy shoes, preferably boots
- Comfortable clothes that may get dirty
- Layers for all weather possibilities
- Rain jacket
- Water bottle
Habit will provide us with tools but if you have any of the following, please consider bringing:
- Tape measure (25ft)
- Retractable utility knife
- 16 or 20 oz. hammer
- Marking pencil
- Work gloves
