Women's squash beats Bowdoin at nationals, avenging earlier loss
February 22,
2008 PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Bates College women's squash team defeated Bowdoin College 5-4 on Friday at the College Squash Association Team Nationals, avenging their regular season-ending loss to the Polar Bears and keeping them in the hunt for the Kurtz Cup. The Bobcats (11-9) are seeded 13th overall and thus play in the Kurtz Cup (B) Division for seeds 9 through 16. The Bobcats finished their regular season with a 6-3 loss at Bowdoin (11-10) on Feb. 10, which broke Bates' 10-match win streak against the Polar Bears and gave Bowdoin the 12th seed at nationals. Bates will next face the winner between No. 9 Williams and No. 16 Tufts, who played later on Friday afternoon, on Saturday at 9 a.m. in the Kurtz Cup semifinals.
