MeLL is an extensive web-based library of training materials for Microsoft products, including MS Windows and MS Office. The MeLL library contains tutorials on specific topics, general reference tools, assessment tools, and overviews of new features contained in the latest version of MS Windows and Office products.To view MeLL you need Internet Explorer for Windows, v. 6.0 or greater.
A. Accessing Microsoft e-Learning Library:
MeLL is only available for use from the campus network or via a campus dialup connection. Go to https://business.microsoftelearning.com/activate/ to access the resource. Please contact Help Desk Services for password information, and additional steps for initial accesss to courses.
B. How is MeLL organized?
The MeLL home page contains an index of Collections arranged alphabetically.
The Collections refer to specific software applications (e.g., Office 2003 or Office 2007) as well as to thematic topics (Business Solutions)
Each Collection contains a list of Training Titles that list the topics covered.

MeLL includes Collections dedicated to specific versions of MS Office, but also Collections dedicated to new features as well as to reference books.
For example, there's a Collection on What's New In MS Window Vista that helps users of Windows XP migrate to theVista operating system. And there's an MS Office 2007 Reference Collection.

C. Browse MeLL:
To browse the MeLL Collections, open Internet Explorer, enter https://business.microsoftelearning.com/activate/ in the address field, and review the list of Collections. Be sure to read the Training Titles contained in any given Collection to get a sense of what topics are covered.
Example:
To access Microsoft Computer Dictionary, Fifth Edition, scroll down to and click the link to the last Collection listed on the MeLL Home Page:
Microsoft® Windows® XP Collection.
From its Table of Contents, select Microsoft Computer Dictionary, Fifth Edition.

D. Search MeLL:
After you've opened a Collection, you have the option to review its lessons through its Table of Contents or through the MeLL Search tool.
Note: The Search tool only searches the currently open Collection and not the entire MeLL site.

E. Assessment Tools:
Most MeLL Collections contain Pre-Assessment tests to determine your proficiency with a given application. After you complete a Lesson, you can also take a Post-Assessment to determine how much you've retained.
Example: Access Pre-Assessment for Excel 2007
At the MeLL home page, select Advanced Courses on Microsoft Office 2007 from the list of Collections.
If the Table of Contents isn't displayed, click the Table of Contents.
Open the Advanced Training for Microsoft Office Excel 2007, and click Pre-Assessment.
The MeLL pre-assessment page will open.
Click Take the Pre-Assessment to determine your proficiency with Excel.
The program will flag the chapters that you should focus on.
