Meg Coffin '08 earned her second All-Northeast honors from D3hoops.com.
LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates senior center Meg Coffin (Westford, Mass.) was voted to the D3hoops.com Women's All-Northeast Region Second Team, announced on Wednesday.

It is the third postseason honor this year for Coffin, who earlier this month was named NESCAC First Team All-Conference as well as First Team All-State by the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association. She is one of five players from NESCAC schools to earn the All-Region recognition, and one of only two centers, along with Colleen Feeney of Bridgewater State, voted the region's Player of the Year.

After missing the 2006-07 season due to injury, Coffin returned this winter for her final year with the Bobcats and once again ranked among the conference leaders in multiple statistical categories. The 2006 NESCAC Player of the Year, she averaged a team-high 15.3 points (5th in NESCAC), 9.4 rebounds (4th) and 1.58 blocks (3rd) per game while shooting at a 56.4 percent clip (2nd) through 19 outings, collecting nine double-doubles in the process. Coffin closed the book on her career fourth all-time at Bates in scoring and rebounding with 1,252 points and 789 boards.

Players were nominated for these awards by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools. All SIDs in the region were given the opportunity to vote.
