To encourage greater energy conservation on campus:

• The main steam plant is started later in the fall and shut down earlier in the spring.
• Winter temperature settings have been reduced to 68 F and summer temperature settings raised to 72 F.
• Compact flourescent bulbs are provided to students as replacements for incandescent bulbs.
• Occupancy sensors are placed where appropriate in all new construction and renovation projects.
• Washing machines in all residences have been replaced with front-loading machines.
• Vending misers have been installed on most vending machines on campus effectively putting the machines to sleep when no motion is detected.
