Gerda was educated in Germany (University of Freiburg).
Her specialities are: Poetry, and the translation of poetry,
20th Century German literature; Women's writing, Translation
She is also co-author of two books.
She has translated numerous poems and essays from German to English; also a book on the history of the Shanghai Jewish community during the WW II.
