HADLEY, Mass. -- The Bates women's track and field team had three women place a total of four times on the NESCAC All-Conference team, the New England Small College Athletic Conference announced on Tuesday.

NESCAC Track and Field All-Conference honors are awarded to athletes who finish in the top three of an event at the NESCAC Championships, which were held last weekend at Hamilton College.

Sophomore Vantiel Elizabeth Duncan (Topsham, Maine) won the first two All-NESCAC awards of her career, one for finishing first in the conference in the shot put (13.51 meters) and the other for finishing third in the hammer throw (43.43m).

Junior captain Izzy Alexander (Harvard, Mass.) won All-NESCAC honors for the third straight year in the 400-meter hurdles, when she won her second NESCAC title in the event and broke her own Bates record in with a time of 1:02.46.

And junior Jen Marino (Methuen, Mass.) won All-NESCAC honors for finishing second in the triple jump at 36-9.75, easily breaking the Bates record of 36-1.25 she had set a week beforehand at the Aloha Relays.
