The Dean of Faculty's office at Bates coordinates a number of faculty initiatives and takes an active role in college-wide programs designed to advance the work of the College. In recent years the dean's office has undertaken an extensive workload study, the faculty has redesigned the College's General Education program, and the President's office has overseen a master planning process and a campus-wide diversity initiative in which the faculty and academic offices have played a key role.
