Q:is the hummus made by commons or is it store bought? what are the ingredients in the regular plain hummus? it tastes great!
A:We make it in house. The ingredients are as follows:
* Garbanzo Beans
* Tahini Sauce
* Salt
* Pepper
* Cumin
* Cayenne Pepper
* Chopped Garlic
* Lemon Juice
Q:I'd like to have sub rolls at Commons, I think this would make sandwich making much more exciting.
A:There are sub rolls available from time to time.
Q:The sweet potato soup is DELICIOUS!!! Wha is in it? Can we have it again? Thank you!
A:Thanks, sweet potatoes and yes.
Q:More breakfast options? and why is it always so cold in commons in the morning. bust out the heat!
also, can the hummus make an appearance in the morning?
A change from the usual cream cheese bagel would be nice.
A:It is presently cold in Commons- like elsewhere on campus- because the main steam plant has not been turned on. Thanks for your suggestions, we will take them under consideration.
Q:Will the Commons bakery ever produce some fresh, home made breads? Those are the best!
A:At present we are one baker short so it is all we can do to keep up with the desserts. Once the open slot has been filled we will be making fresh breads.
Q:I am a HUGE fan of the spelt spaghetti, but the other night it was extremely salty! I understand this kind of pasta gets very sticky and that sometimes salt is added to the water in pasta to keep it from sticking...but I personally would prefer sticky pasta that tastes like pasta than unsticky pasta that tastes like salt. Perhaps less salt could be added during the preparation of the plain pastas? Thanks!
A:Not sure why it was salty, but adding salt does not loosen sticky pasta- actually makes it worse- and not something we do. Additionally we do not add salty in the preparation process. I will check into this and see what happened.

Q:Why is there ice cream in my favorite yogurt maker. Please say this is a temporary fix. I don't know how much longer I can stand every other day off w/o frozen yogurt.
A:It is just temporary- till the ice cream machine gets fixed. If you notice we are rotating the ice cream and the yogurt.
Q: The Potato Pesto Soup did not have as much flavor as it once did. It was still pretty good, but it used to be to die for.
A:I will check the recipe.
Q:The italian sausage is delicious. Please offer it more for dinner!
A: It is on the regular rotation.
Q:Can you serve more chicken noodle soup and mac&cheese now that it's getting cooler? Thanks!

Q:There was a vegetarian onion soup last year that tasted as though it were made from beef stock- can we have that again? It was great!
A:Sure can.
Q:There was a vegan three-bean chili served during the Commons chef cook-off this summer and it was AMAZING. Will that be added to the menu? Thanks a bunch!

Q:Will the sundried tomatoes ever make an appearance on the salad bar this year? And on that note, will there ever be a whole grain waffle mix? Thanks!
A:They were just out last week.
Q:I really have enjoyed commons this year, especially all the new dishes. It's because I love commons so much that I ask: please don't shut down dinner early! I checked dining hours and the earliest dinner is supposed to stop serving is 8pm. Yet at 7:30 commons is already packing up for the night. Because of activities, some of us can only go to commons later on, and it's discouraging to see all the food being put away while commons is still serving. I can understand shutting down one side of the euro station, since both are identical, but the sides of the salad bar are different and many times I've seen something I wanted from one side packed up right in front of me. The other day I was there at 7:30 and there were no desserts left and two kinds of pasta were completely gone. Please keep the food available until serving time is over! I think we would all appreciate it.

Q:Could we have hot soup served in the morning? It's really cold in the morning, and I always crave hot soup...thanks!
A:We can certinaly look at doing this.
Q:I would like the grilled garden burgers to be offered in the veggie burgers instead of the other ones or at least that there is an option for the former. They taste better and have more consitant. Also they should include soy products in the daily diet. There are soy sausages and many other "meat" products made from soy. Pleas include those in the meals.
