NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- Bates College senior Matt Dunlap concluded his college cross country career with a 105th-place finish out of 280 runners Saturday at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships, hosted by St. Olaf College.

Dunlap (Farmington, Maine) covered the 8-kilometer course in 25:51, 16th among competitors from the New England region, nearly mirroring his 15th-place finish at last weekend's New England championships.

"Matt came out strong and got himself into good position, then he didn't feel all that great over the final mile or so," said Bates head coach Al Fereshetian. "Overall, he did a nice job of capping a great senior season."

Wisconsin-Platteville's Tyler Sigl won the race in 24:24, while New York University took the team title.
