Babson defeats Bates in women's tennis, 6-3

Bates took a 2-1 lead after doubles play, but Babson took five out of six singles matches to clinch the win. Earning points for Bates in doubles play were first-year tandem Erika Blauth (Hope, Maine) and Brooke Morse-Karzen (Wilmette, Ill.), who defeated Kali Hogan and Jes Huang 9-7 at second doubles. At third doubles, senior Caryn Benisch (Huntington, N.Y.) and first-year Charlotte Matlack (Villanova, Pa.) defeated Brittany Whitenack and Ashley Lake 8-5. Morse-Karzen got Bates a third point at No. 4 singles, where she defeated Hogan, 6-3, 6-4.
