Stingy women's soccer tipped at Trinity
October 11,
2008
The Bantams improve to 5-4 overall and 1-4 in the league with their first win in five games, while the Bobcats slip to 3-6 overall and 1-5 in the NESCAC. Bates had control early in the match, but as the first half progressed, Trinity gained momentum and retained possession on the offensive end for the majority of play before intermission. Bates first-year goalkeeper Annie Burns (Topsfield, Mass.) made 11 saves in her first collegiate start, while Emily Weedon made six saves for the Bantams in the shutout. Bates plays at non-conference, in-state rival Husson College on Tuesday at 4 p.m., followed by a NESCAC game at Middlebury on Saturday at 11 a.m. |
