Women's squash defeats Tufts 9-0 in Maine Invitational

LEWISTON, Maine -- The Bates College women's squash team routed NESCAC opponent Tufts University 9-0 on Friday, the first day of the Maine Invitational at the Bates Squash Center. With the win, the Bobcats evened their overall record at 8-8 and rose above the .500 mark against NESCAC opponents at 4-3. In one of its most impressive performances of the season, No. 14-ranked Bates defeated the No. 18 Jumbos in three games at all nine positions.

Prior to the Tufts match, Bates kicked off the tournament by scrimmaging against the visiting University of Toronto, registering an 8-1 win.

The tournament continues on Saturday for the Bobcats with matches against No. 16 George Washington University at 11 a.m. and No. 25 Northeastern University at 6 p.m.
