LEWISTON, Maine -- The Bates College women's squash team defeated George Washington University and Northeastern University by 8-1 scores on Saturday, concluding the Maine Invitational with a perfect 3-0 record.

The Bobcats finish the regular season with a 10-8 overall record, the No. 5 ranking in the NESCAC and a national ranking of No. 14. They'll compete at the College Squash Association Team Nationals next weekend at Harvard University.

It was the final pair of home matches for seniors Sarah Blomstedt (Gill, Mass.), who has amassed a career singles record of 58-34; Sophie Runquist (Kent, Conn.), who has amassed a career singles record of 30-11; Virginia Schippers (Brooklyn, N.Y.), who has amassed a record of 9-6 this season; and captain Margot Webel (Locust Valley, N.Y.), who has amassed a career singles record of 60-25.
