Senior Izzy Alexander (Harvard, Mass.) hit the provisional mark for NCAAs in the 800-meter run, finishing 13th out of 162 runners in a time of 2:14.80, a second off of her personal best time. Junior Vantiel Elizabeth Duncan (Topsham, Maine), meanwhile, hit the provisional NCAA mark in the shot put, at 12.97 meters, finishing sixth out of 53 competitors in the event. Duncan also finished fourth out of 55 competitors in the 20-pound weight throw, with a mark of 16.18 meters. The one-time All-American has already met the provisional mark for NCAAs in the weight throw. Other highlights for Bates included the 4x400-meter relay team of junior Molly Radis (Peaks Island, Maine), sophomore Dana Lindauer (Needham, Mass.), first-year Tina Tobin (Lowell, Mass.) and senior Jennifer Marino (Methuen, Mass.) finishing in 4:08.97, the eighth-best time in program history, good for 25th place out of 35 teams. Sophomore Sara Ellen Godek (Gilford, N.H.) placed 12th out of 55 competitors in the weight throw in 14.72 meters. |
