Latest NewsSaniuk captures All-NESCAC First Team honors in softball 5/8/2008
It is the third All-NESCAC award in as many years for Saniuk (Sharon, Mass.), who was a Second Team honoree in both 2007 and 2006. She was voted NESCAC Rookie of the Year in 2006. A catcher and third baseman for the Bobcats as well as the team captain, Saniuk led the team in most offensive categories, including batting average (.395), home runs (5), RBIs (19), slugging percentage (.628) and on-base percentage (.447). She ranked sixth in the NESCAC in slugging, tied for sixth in the conference in home runs, and ranked 10th in the NESCAC in both batting average and on-base percentage. Saniuk set the Bates career home runs record early in the season with her 14th, and extended it to 17 career homers before the season ended. She also already owns the Bates record for career total bases (166) and is tied with Rachel Clayton '90 for the career extra-base hits record, with 37. |
