The Admissions Office will be hosting its annual spring PHONE-A-THON! From 6 pm – 9 pm we will be calling accepted students and providing free food from local vendors to all those wishing to participate for 15 minutes or for the entire three hours! Tonight, we will be calling students from the South and West coast. Tonight’s food will be from the Lewiston House of Pizza (Heidi’s Deli will be provided on Thursday if needed). The Peer Writing Center in Ladd is open from 7 to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday nights as well as Sunday afternoons from 1 to 5. TO REMAIN ON CAMPUS in the residences and to have access to the dining services DURING THE SHORT TERM, students must be in one of the following categories:
(1) Be enrolled in a Short Term Unit,
(2) Be a graduating senior who already has completed three units AND is engaged in an approved work or voluntary work on campus or in the community (form required from the Dean of Students Office),
(3) Be a full-time Voluntary Teaching Assistant approved by a Faculty member for a Unit,
(4) Be a full-time Research Assistant approved by a Faculty member (form required from the Dean Of Students Office),
(5) Be a participant on an intercollegiate varsity team in season (sport term - access on campus ends at season's conclusion).
Students not involved in one of the categories above will not be allowed to stay on campus nor have dining privileges for the Short Term.

It's the academic event of the year! The Eighth MOUNT DAVID SUMMIT, Bates College's annual celebration of student academic achievement, will take place on Friday, April 3, 2009. The Bates Gamelan Orchestra will kick off the day's events at 2:30 PM in the Perry Atrium of Pettengill Hall. Over 280 students will participate in this year's Summit. In Pettengill Hall, concurrent sessions will take place throughout the afternoon, in which students will present research posters, short talks, panel discussions, a photography exhibition, and film screenings. The Summit will culminate in the evening in a concert by Bates College Modern Dance Company at 7:30 PM in Schaeffer Theatre. Don't miss YOUR FRIENDS' presentation at the Annual MOUNT DAVID SUMMIT.
