Today's events and programs

IM LEAGUES FOR SHORT TERM!  Registration has been open for the following Short Term IM Leagues:  4v4 flag football, wallyball, squash, racquetball and bowling.  Unfortunately, the Slow Pitch Softball has filled with 24 teams but all other leagues remain open.  If you're interested in being active in the IM league, turn your reservation in as soon as possible.  All leagues will begin the first week of Short Term!  www.bates.edu/IM.

POSTER PRESENTATION: Dreaming Big: Sizing up the Arts at Bates College - Do the students really care about the arts at Bates? Do they go to arts events? Who goes, and why? Answers to these questions, and more! - 9:30am, Mays Center - Stop by and see poster presentations by students in the Research Methods for Sociology course. Data includes surveys and interviews with students, observations of arts events, and assessments of the Bates Daily, The Bates Student, and the Bates Website  (Pssst – our website is better than Bowdoin’s or Colby’s!). The Peer Writing Center in Ladd is open from 7 to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday nights as well as Sunday afternoons from 1 to 5. No appointment necessary--just stop by with your paper and assignment and enjoy some constructive conversation about your writing. See you there!

BATES BUS SCHEDULE: The bus departs from Campus Ave. in front of Chase Hall.  Sign-up in advance for all trips in the Student Activities Office in Chase Hall.  This Saturday’s trip will be going Freeport. Bus leaves campus at noon and returns to campus at 5 pm.

CONCERT: Haven't been filmed yet for drunk thesis? Bragadoon Productions is hosting a party for their last weekend of filming this Saturday night at 10PM the Little Room. Helpful reminders and information
 If you are REMAINING ON CAMPUS FOR SHORT-TERM and want to switch rooms, please come to the Housing Office as soon as possible and fill out a short term room switch request form. Switches can take two forms:
1. If you know someone who will be vacating their room for short-term and you want to switch into their room, you can both email amcgeeha@bates.edu with the request.
2. You can fill out the short term room switch request form and turn it in to the Housing Office. You will be able to note your preferences on this form and will be housed accordingly, depending on what is available.
All short term room switch requests need to be handed in/emailed by May 1st. Please feel free to email housing@bates.edu with any questions.

KEYS: Before you leave, return your keys: Students not returning to campus housing for short term, must return all College keys by April 19th at 5pm. This includes residence keys, academic building room keys and keys to student organization offices. Keys may be returned to the Access Control Office (across from the bookstore) during office hours, or through the mail slot in the Access Control door outside of office hours. If you must return your key when Chase Hall is closed, please return your key to the Security Office. Returning your key to Security is only an option when Chase Hall is closed. The late fee for keys not returned by April 19th is $25. The total fees for residence keys not returned, or returned after the lock is changed is $100 per key. Academic building room keys and keys to student organization offices are billed at $50 per key. You are responsible for returning your keys. Do not leave them in your room, give them to someone else to use or expect someone else to return them on your behalf.
ACCESS: Building access will terminate on Sunday, April 19th at 5pm for those students who are not registered for short term or participating in an approved short term sport or program.

Students, student organizations, administrative or faculty offices who wish to submit a blurb to appear in the Bates Daily should fill out a request form in the Student Activities Office in Chase Hall by 4:00 p.m. the day before the date you want it to appear or 4:00 p.m. Friday for Saturday and Sunday editions. Blurbs for one event may only run in three editions. The CSA Office reserves complete editorial control over all submissions to the Bates Daily.
