Multifaith Chaplaincy - All sorrows can be borne if you can put them in a story or tell a story about them. Isak Dinesen - GOING ON TOGETHER - A Weekly Conversation For and Among Those in the Bates Community Who Have Lost a Loved One in the Last Year-  Wednesdays at Noon March 11, 18, 25, April 1, 8 and 15- Multifaith Chaplaincy Common Room - 161 Wood Street 2nd Floor - Bill Blaine-Wallace, Convener

BREAK PARKING: Students with valid parking permits who wish to leave their cars on campus over break must first report to Security with vehicle information. Vehicles must then be parked in the Merrill Lot in the row closest to the OUTDOOR track. Students without a valid parking permit, students who have accumulated five violations or are banned from campus must make other arrangements to park off campus. Break parking is from April 18, 2009 to April 26, 2009 ONLY. Be advised that physical plant will be conducting sweeping and lot maintenance over break. An announcement will be made regarding which lots will be closed. Any vehicle parked in a lot scheduled for sweeping will be towed at the owner's expense.

KEYS: Before you leave, return your keys: Students not returning to campus housing for short term, must return all College keys by April 19th at 5pm. This includes residence keys, academic building room keys and keys to student organization offices. Keys may be returned to the Access Control Office (across from the bookstore) during office hours, or through the mail slot in the Access Control door outside of office hours. If you must return your key when Chase Hall is closed, please return your key to the Security Office. Returning your key to Security is only an option when Chase Hall is closed. The late fee for keys not returned by April 19th is $25. The total fees for residence keys not returned, or returned after the lock is changed is $100 per key. Academic building room keys and keys to student organization offices are billed at $50 per key. You are responsible for returning your keys. Do not leave them in your room, give them to someone else to use or expect someone else to return them on your behalf.  ACCESS: Building access will terminate on Sunday, April 19th at 5pm for those students who are not registered for short term or participating in an approved short term sport or program.

2009-2010 PARKING LOTTERY: The Parking Committee would like to announce the 2009-2010 Parking Lottery. The lottery opened on April 6 and runs for two weeks ending on April 20 at 3:59 PM. Anyone looking to have a parking permit next year on campus must register on Garnet Gateway under the Main Menu for the parking lottery. Those looking for commuter permits should contact Security all other inquires about the parking lottery should be directed to the Parking Committee via email at stparking@bates.edu.

Working on a paper? Get some feedback tonight about your writing from experienced Bates peer writing assistants. The Peer Writing Center in Ladd is open from 7 to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday nights as well as Sunday afternoons from 1 to 5. No appointment necessary--just stop by with your paper and assignment and enjoy some constructive conversation about your writing. See you there!
