CLAM BAKE: The Outing Club will be hosting its spring clam bake Saturday May 23rd at Popham Beach State Park for all those who have long been awaiting this day of sand, sun and seafood. Tickets will be sold in commons all week: $6 for seafood tickets $3 for non-seafood tickets. Food will be served from 10am-2pm. All are welcome!
SENIORS!!! Every other year, seniors complete the Senior Survey, which evaluates the programs and services here at Bates. Your combined responses give us a better idea of what we do well, and where changes are necessary. Please log onto the Garnet Gateway to connect to and complete your personal survey. Your participation is important and your responses will help influence our policies and programs. Come see Bragadoon Production's much anticipated film DRUNK THESIS, on the Library Quad. A highly irrelevant and carnival-based pre-party will begin at 4:30 with live music and plenty of games. The movie is open to everybody free of charge and will begin promptly at 9:15PM.

Join Sangai Asia Club for the ANNUAL FIREWORKS show! Free Asian food and live music by CRAZYWATER, followed by the fireworks show. Open to everyone! Saturday, May 23, around 9 pm at Olin Amphitheater
The Student Activities Office is offering a great trip to go WHITEWATER RAFTING ON THE DEAD RIVER. The trip will be on Sunday, May 24th. The cost will be $75, and this will include rafting and all of the equipment, a roundtrip coach bus, snacks on the bus and a DVD of the rafting for each rafter to remember the trip. We are currently taking names and payments, so stop by the Student Activities Office in Chase Hall to reserve your spot. The trip is open to all students, staff and faculty, as well as affiliated friends and family members. The recommended age is at least 14, in case you are interested in bringing children or siblings along for the ride. For students that are interested in going but are concerned about the cost, assistance is available - please ask if you are interested.
The Bates Outing Club hosts the FIRST ANNUAL BATES COLLEGE PUDDLE REGATTA on Lake Andrews. Come watch as participants race across the puddle in their homemade boats. Sunday, May 24 at 1:30 pm.
Come have fun playing BADMINTON! All skill levels are welcome. Stop by for a quick game or stay for the whole two hours! Sunday, May 24 from 4 pm to 6 pm. |

Before you leave, RETURN YOUR KEYS. All College keys must be returned by May 31st at 5pm. This includes residence keys, academic building room keys and keys to student organization offices. Keys may be returned to the Access Control Office (across from the bookstore) during office hours, or through the mail slot in the Access Control door outside of office hours. If you must return your key when Chase Hall is closed, please return your key to the Security Office. Returning your key to Security is only an option when Chase Hall is closed. The late fee for keys not returned by May 31st is $25. The total fees for residence keys not returned, or returned after the lock is changed is $100 per key. Academic building room keys and keys to student organization offices are billed at $50 per key. You are responsible for returning your keys. Do not leave them in your room, give them to someone else to use or expect someone else to return them on your behalf. ACCESS: Building access will terminate Saturday, May 30th at 5pm for students not graduating. Building access will terminate on Sunday, May 31st at 5pm for those students who are graduating.
ATTENTION STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS: Please submit names of new officers to the CSA Office as soon as you have elections. The CSA office is in the process of putting a list of all student organizations and their leaders for next fall’s directory. The following organizations have not submitted a list of new officers:

6:00 pm COLLEGE SHUTTLE - The shuttle runs on Friday and Saturday nights from 6 pm - 12 am, and Sunday from 12 pm - 6 pm. The shuttle runs to Auburn locations at the beginning of each hour, and runs to Lewiston locations on the half hour.

Students, student organizations, administrative or faculty offices who wish to submit a blurb to appear in the Bates Daily should fill out a request form in the Student Activities Office in Chase Hall by 4:00 p.m. the day before the date you want it to appear or 4:00 p.m. Friday for Saturday and Sunday editions. Blurbs for one event may only run in three editions. The CSA Office reserves complete editorial control over all submissions to the Bates Daily.
