Paris: Network File Storage Windows Access

A. WINDOWS ACCESS (please consult these instructions for Windows Vista: Connecting to Netapp):
You must be logged onto the Bates Network (CCAA login for personal computers) to access Paris. If you do not see a login dialog, then:
From the Start menu

1. For a lab computer, select Log Off  - lower left corner of screen
2. Click Yes
3. Enter your Bates username - e.g. hpotter
4. Enter your Bates password - email password
5. Click OK
6. From the Start menu: (left corner of screen)
   Select Run...
7. Type in \\paris\username\  (backslash is above return key)
8. Click OK

B. Paris window will open:

1. Double-click on your Bates user name folder
2. Double-click on folders to see files
3. To access files, drag them to the local desktop
4. Double-click on the local copy to open it for editing
5. Remember to save frequently while you are editing
6. When you are finished with the file, drag the local copy back to the Paris window

C. DISCONNECT FROM PARIS FROM A LAB COMPUTER:

1. From the Start menu, choose Log off to disconnect, otherwise your Paris account remains open to anyone using that computer
