A. WINDOWS ACCESS (please consult these instructions for Windows Vista: Connecting to Netapp):
You must be logged onto the Bates Network (CCAA login for personal computers) to access Paris. If you do not see a login dialog, then:
From the Start menu
- For a lab computer, select Log Off - lower left corner of screen
- Click Yes
- Enter your Bates username - e.g. hpotter
- Enter your Bates password - email password
- Click OK
- From the Start menu: (left corner of screen)
Select Run... - Type in \\paris\username\ (backslash is above return key)
- Click OK
B. Paris window will open:
- Double-click on your Bates user name folder
- Double-click on folders to see files
- To access files, drag them to the local desktop
- Double-click on the local copy to open it for editing
- Remember to save frequently while you are editing
- When you are finished with the file, drag the local copy back to the Paris window
- From the Start menu, choose Log off to disconnect, otherwise your Paris account remains open to anyone using that computer
