The Asian Studies Program of this highly selective private liberal arts college, located in south-central Maine, invites applications and nominations for a tenure-track position in Chinese Language and Culture to begin in Fall, 2010. Ph.D. is preferred but ABD candidates will be considered. A native/near native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English, a strong commitment to teaching language courses at all levels and training in Chinese language pedagogy are required; experience preferred. Applicants with strengths in Chinese cultural studies, linguistics, literature, pedagogy, or social sciences with a focus on China are invited to apply. Duties include courses in Chinese language and culture, in the candidate’s area of expertise, and senior thesis advising.
