Ziran Huang is serving the Program in Asian Studies at Bates College as both Learning Associate and Lecturer in Chinese. He is a Ph.D. candidate in the program, Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, at Nanjing Normal University. He holds an M.A. in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics from Nanjing Normal University and a B.A. in Chinese Language from Hunan University of Science and Technology. Huang’s research focuses mainly on Mandarin grammar and second-language acquisition. He is currently teaching, Chinese 401--Advanced Chinese.
