The Spanish Program in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at Bates College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Latin American literature starting August 2010. Ph.D. is preferred but ABD candidates will be considered. A native/near native proficiency in Spanish and English is required. Preference given to applicants who demonstrate interest in Central America and the Caribbean. Candidates are expected to teach effectively courses in introductory Spanish as well as Latin American literature and cultural studies. Review of applications will begin December 1, 2009, and remain open until the position is filled.
