The Peer Writing Center in Ladd has new daytime hours. We're open Monday through Thursday from 11 to 5 and Friday from 11 to 3. Stop by for some constructive conversation about your writing - no appointment necessary. The Center is also open Sunday through Thursday nights from 7 to 11 and Sunday afternoons from 1 to 5. EXHIBIT: Students and professor, Trian Nguyen, will be displaying photography from their 2008 Short Term trip. The group spent four weeks traveling from southern to northern Vietnam studying the country’s artistic and cultural aspects. From Tuesday until October 17th in the Chase Hall Art Gallery.

TWO PHILLIPS FELLOWSHIP PRESENTATIONS: Wednesday, October 7, 4:30 p.m. - Skelton Lounge, Chase Hall: 1st presentation: Barbara Byers '10: Arts Immersion in Indonesia. Ms. Byers spent her summer in West Java where she studied traditional music and dance. She will share her experience of her time with Nano Suratno, a renowned composer, and perform one of the colorful, traditional dances she learned.
2nd presentation: Chomba Kaluba '10: Using Art to Fight Poverty and Empower Children of Guatemala. Mr. Kaluba worked with the poorest endangered children of the Guatemala City garbage dump community. There he sought to empower the children through art to help them generate an income to better themselves. He will share how he was able to work towards this goal. All are welcome; refreshments will be served.
