Oct 21, 2009 I “Spinal Injuries in Seniors” (follow case study) -Michael Regan, M.D. Ryan Card, P.A.-C, Program Coordinator Central Maine Orthopedics, Central Maine Spine Center - Spinal injuries can occur in people of any age. The mechanisms of spinal injuries tend to differ when comparing younger and older patient populations but, regardless of patient age, acute injuries to the back can have tremendous consequences for both young and old alike. This presentation will look at spinal injuries typical of the older patient as well as why they happen, how they are treated, and what the long-term consequences of these injuries are.
MUSEUM OF ART LECTURE: Barry Nemett, chair of the Painting Department at the Maryland Institute College of Art, will speak about his work in conjunction with his exhibition Barry Nemett: Drawings from Italy in the Museum of Art. Nemett has received numerous awards, including two from the Alfred and Trafford Klots Residency Program to paint in Brittany, France, and a Ford Foundation grant to support his work in Italy. Sponsored by the Department of Art and Visual Culture and the Bates College Museum of Art. Thursday, October 22nd at 7:00 pm in Olin 104. |

Blurbs for one event may only run in three editions. The CSA Office reserves complete editorial control over all submissions to the Bates Daily.
