Kendall leads women's cross country to eighth at NESCACs

Seniors composed three of Bates' top four finishers in the race, led by the Bobcats' frontrunner, Esther Kendall (Ridgeway, Ontario), who placed 34th overall out of 121 runners, completing the 6-kilometer course in 23:17. Senior Abby Samuelson (Freeport, Maine) came next in 40th overall (23:22), followed by junior Jennifer Mitton (Reisterstown, Md.) in 45th (23:39) and senior Katie Bash (Wallingford, Pa.) in 54th (24:00). Sophomore Jenny Monsulick (Readfield, Maine) placed 68th overall (24:27) as the last of Bates' five point-scorers. Rounding out the Bobcats' top seven were junior Liz Rowley (Evanston, Ill.) in 76th (24:40) and junior Alex Alberto (Concord, Mass.) in 77th (24:42), with senior Ngoc Pham (Sharon, Mass.) in the same cluster at 78th (24:43). The Bobcats scored 199 points as a team, 22 points behind seventh-place Tufts and 63 points ahead of ninth-place Hamilton. Bates next competes at the ECAC Division III Championships, next Saturday at Williams. |
