Works with departments in the division of humanities and the division of social sciences on faculty workload, curriculum, temporary hiring, and other issues.  Assists the VPAA/Dean of the Faculty at meetings of Division Chairs and Department/Program Chairs. Works with the faculty First Year Seminar and Writing Committee on the General Education curriculum and requirements around writing at all levels. Works with the Director of Writing, the Writing Workshop, and the Peer-Writing Program on development and support for student writing and faculty teaching of writing.  Develops and moves forward programs on assessment of student writing, currently at the first-year and senior levels.

Has developed applications for and manages grants from the Mellon Foundation, David Educational Foundation, Tanaka Memorial Foundation, and other sources. Works with faculty, faculty and staff on the First-Year Seminar Program, advising, the Sophomore Experience, faculty development around pedagogy, planning the Learning Commons, the Honors Program, and Graduate Fellowships.  Serves as the office liaison with the Harward Center for Community Partnerships.
