A minor in economics introduces students to the theoretical and empirical concepts that underlie economic analysis and provides them with an extensive background in what economists know about numerous economic problems and policies. Minors become proficient in applying the economic concepts that arise every day in the worlds of public policy and business. Students with deep interest in public policy matters such as environmental problems, women's issues, or racial discrimination may choose to supplement another major with a minor in Economics. Still other students majoring in fields besides Economics, but thinking about graduate study in business, may also benefit from a minor in Economics. If you have any questions about specific courses, consult an Economics Department faculty member. |
