Bates Dance Theatre Presents "Baile Popular"

LEWISTON, Maine -- The Bates Dance Theatre Short Term will present "Baile Polular," an exhibition of Spanish and Latin-American dances on Friday, May 3, at 7 p.m. in Alumni Gym. Carmen and Carl Nelson will be the featured guest artists in this display of the mambo, the salsa, the merengue and more. "Baile Popular" refers to Carribean language of movement with roots in the rhythms of Africa and the melodies of Spain.
