NOONDAY CONCERTS CONTINUE IN MAY

LEWISTON, Maine -- The Bates College Noonday Concert Series continues with four concerts scheduled for the month of May. The free concerts, open to the public, will be held from 12:30 to 1 p.m. at the College's Olin Arts Concert Hall located on Russell Street in Lewiston.

On May 7, clarinetist Carol Furman and Bates pianist Mark Howard will perform the Sonata in F minor by Brahms and short pieces by Max Reger. On May 14, guitarist Bill Shimamura and his group, Murphy's Lawbreakers, will perform traditional Irish folk music. On May 16, Mark Manduca and the Bates College Jazz Band will play. On May 21, oboist Michelle Vigneau and baroque flutist Anthony Allen will perform music by Handel and Couperin.
