Next Reunion in 2006. Got news? Tap out a note to magazine@bates.edu! Suzanne Davidson Newing writes: "Many medical advances in the field of veterinary medicine make the involvement with animals, mainly dogs and horses, especially interesting." She had a visit from my roommate for four years, Muriel Ulrich Weeks, just before the Reunion. "We rambled through the 1946 yearbook, recalling wonderful memories."... The class learned with regret of the death of John Stone, husband of Gracie (Hall) on Jan. 24, 2001... Erma Rowe Sturgis visited New York City with Deanne to celebrate her birthday and saw many Broadway shows. In May 2001, she writes, "came a trip to Tennessee to spend with dear old friends who were in Iran with us." The fateful events of Sept. 11, she writes in verse, "Make us all stop and think,/ How precious is life and love!/ So let us live each minute — / To the fullest — with help from above."... Fran Sudhalter Pliskin reports that she and Irv are fine and enjoying retirement. She had a mini reunion with Janice Eyges Kaplan '47. Janice will soon leave for Brussels where her husband, Larry, will be completing research on NATO on a Fulbright.
