Next Reunion in 2003. Got news? Tap out a note to magazine@bates.edu! Matt Hall was elected to the Cheshire (Conn.) Town Council last fall. His family has lived in Cheshire since the 1700s, and family members have served town government for years, but Matt's election had a different spin, said the Republican-American of Waterbury, Conn.: Coming from a long line of Republicans, Matt was elected as a Democrat. "He has a way of approaching people that puts them at ease," said the Democratic Town Committee chairman. "He knows how to talk to you and listen to your concerns."... Betsy Harding Flanagan is a special education aide in Manchester, Mass., at the middle school. Previously she studied nursing at Northeastern and worked in human services and health agencies in the elementary education office at Lesley College. Betsy and husband Tim live in Rockport with their four daughters.
