On behalf of the City of Lewiston, it is my pleasure to extend a warm welcome to Elaine Tuttle Hansen as the new president of Bates College. At its inception, the City of Lewiston played a prominent role in bringing the College to our community. As our city fathers - and mothers - foresaw, Bates College has brought distinction to Lewiston and benefits to our cities in multiple ways. We are grateful to the College.
