LEXINGTON, Va. - Bates got three goals from three different players in an 8-3 season opening loss at sixth-ranked Washington & Lee Saturday afternoon.

Peter Friedman (Putney, Vt.), Brenton Pitt (Duxbury, Mass.) and Dan Ross (Chevy Chase, Md.) all notched their first goals of the season for Bates (0-1).  Mark Dobbyn (Warren, R.I.) stopped 14 shots in goal for the Bobcats.

Gavin Mollinelli led Washington & Lee (1-0) with a goal and three assists.
