LEWISTON, Maine - Bates College got two goals apiece from three different players en route to a 7-4 win over New England College in a men's lacrosse non-conference game at the AstroTurf Field.  It was also the home opener for Bates.

Chris Eckhoff (Wolfeboro, N.H.), Mark Boccard (Huntington, N.Y.) and Jeff Critchlow (Carlisle, Mass.) each scored two goals to lead Bates (1-1) to the win.  Peter Fedullo (Williamson, N.Y.) added a goal while Peter Friedman (Putney, Vt.) and Dan Ross (Chevy Chase, Md.) tallied assists. 

Mark Dobbyn (Warren, R.I.)  recorded 13 saves.
