Men's lacrosse outscored at Springfield, 18-12

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Springfield College broke open a one goal game at the half by scoring four consecutive goals in the third quarter en route to an 18-12 win over Bates College in a non-conference men's lacrosse game Saturday afternoon.

Paul Purdy led the Springfield (2-3) offense with five goals and three assists while Taylor Brown assed four goals and two assists. Shawn Cofrin chipped in with two goals and three assists.

Purdy scored three of the the Pride's five goals in the third quarter, notching the game-winner with 2:16 remaining in the quarter.

Brad Frost (Winchester, Mass.) tallied three goals and two assists while Matt Bognacki (Manhasset, N.Y.) registered three goals for Bates (4-6).
